Visit Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine

Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning.
It is the head shrine of approximately 12,000 Tenmangu shrines throughout Japan. As one of the largest shrines in Kyushu, you can enjoy the changing nature of the four seasons on its grounds.

After visiting the shrine, head to the 400m long Tenmangu Sando, which is lined with around 90 restaurants and souvenir shops.

Visit the power spots at Sumiyoshi Shrine

Sumiyoshi Shrine is famous for the large number of people who visit the shrine every year for Hatsumode (first shrine visit of the year). It is also known for the various seasonal festivals that take place there. There are three power spots on the grounds of the shrine: the Ancient Rikishi Statue, the Ichiyamatsu Pine Tree and the Ebisu God Statue, so make sure to visit them all.
